Legacy Live Oaks to be Dedicated
May 17, 2009
As part of the Back to Nature Celebration on May 16-17, EIOLT will hold its annual Legacy Live Oak Dedication at 3 p.m. Sunday, May 17, at Indigo Farms (Highway 174). Open to EIOLT members and the public, the program will also celebrate the nearly 16,000 acres on Edisto that have been preserved to date.
During the past five years, 87 Legacy Live Oaks – including four so far in 2009 – have been planted. The new trees will be dedicated on May 17 to the honorees, whose names also appear on the Legacy Live Oak plaque at the memorial site. EIOLT Legacy Live Oaks offer an enduring way to honor special people or events such as anniversaries or new births.
