Marsh Aire Preserve
52 acres highland and marsh
Marsh Aire Preserve protects wildlife habitat while continuing to provide the scenic aspects and potential for viewing wildlife that draw many homeowners to this area. A marsh hammock, or area of high ground covered with woody plants, is a hotspot of biodiversity within the preserve. Undeveloped hammocks are relatively rare. The marsh also acts as a buffer from storm surge, holding large amounts of water and protecting land and houses during storm events.
